Per the FTC regulations, this is a full explanation of how and when I am compensated on RecoveringHappiness.com.
RecoveringHappiness.com began simply as a way to provide information and resources for those struggling to reclaim their life after caregiving. As time has gone by, I found myself transitioning to a full-time writer and blogger.
In order to keep all the content of my blog free but still be able to pay all the costs associated with running a business, including hosting fees, blog design, my own time and that of those who help me, there are many ways in which I am compensated. I love what I do and I love being able to provide all the useful information you can find here at Recovering Happiness, but I also get paid for doing this full-time job.
What You Can Expect
My integrity is extremely important to me. I will never promote something if I don’t feel it is worth your time, energy, or hard earned money no matter what they offer me to do so.
I’m a tell it like it is kinda gal and as such, if I tell you I like something, I mean it. The same goes for if I didn’t like something. My opinion is straightforward and honest – my personal guarantee to you.
I will never knowingly lie or mislead you just because I think it may make me some mullah. Yes, I have bills that need to be paid, but I value my readers too much to mislead you.
Freebies, Reviews, Underwritten Posts
Sometimes I accept free items from marketers or companies. Often I use those free items as contest prizes here on my blog or Facebook page. If I happen to get one for free myself, I will be sure to disclose that to you. Conversely, if I talk about how much I love my new Kindle Fire, it’s because I bought and paid for it myself or it was given to me as a gift by a family or friend. Bottom line – I’ll always tell you when I got it from a marketer or company.
On occasion, I also accept opportunities to write an underwritten post and reviews. However, you can rest assured that I will only accept this type of opportunity when it is a post or series that will be helpful and valuable to my readers and is something that fits well within the parameters of my blog.
Affiliate Marketing
Another source of revenue for Recovering Happiness is commissions made from sales or leads generated through affiliate linking.
Again, I will never link to something just because it is an affiliate link.
The following are some, but not all, of the companies, I frequently link to using affiliate links:
- Ebates
- Amazon
- Acorn
- Shopstyle
Amazon
Recovering Happines is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.
Just to be clear, clicking on an affiliate link and printing a coupon or signing up for a service or ordering a product will be earning me a commission & helping me keep this blog going.
